Hello,

I've just bought a real nice EB-2 DC that is cherry...on the back and sides. Somebody (apparently a long time ago) refinished it sort of tobacco-burst, fades to black, on the front. It looks sor fo cool but...any reccomendations as to anyone in the NYC area who could bring the cherry lovin' back to the front of this bass?

Thanks!

cereal,

Welcome, neighbor!

Unfortunately, most of us gave up refinishing years ago for a variety of reasons. I know of no one around here doing it any more. I, myself gave it up in the latter part of the 70s.

I recommend to all my clients in situations such as your's to send it directly back to Gibson as they are the "source" and with all their resources, you could not be in better hands.

Regards,
Roy

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I may just call up the Gibson people. As for doing it myself...I'd rather not make this very sweet bass my guinea pig...but I do have a Fender I'd gladly sacrifice for the first-time experience (getting the mile thick poly finish off will at least give me a workout).

thanks again folks
