The gibson EB-3, EB-3 L, and EB-4 L are SG body basses.
Made in the 60's and 70's.
Excellent condition examples can be had for under a thousand dollars (if 70's).
60's models up to about 1500. |

dont forget the EB-0, EB-0F, EB-0L & the SGZ-1! The budget Gibson company, Kalamazoo, also made a chipboard SG bass in the 60`s & we cant forget the Epiphone (choke) copies of the EB-3 & EB-0! |

|
|
| In a new vinyl repressing of Black Sabbath "Vol. 4" on Earmark, there're a bunch of new pictures in athe inside booklet. It appears Geezer Butler is playing a lucite bass (clear). I believe that Geezer typically played a Gibson SG. Perhaps there's a clear, lucite (someone correct me if I'm not calling the clear guitar material the proper thing) Gibson SG bass out there, even. |

You know, the EB-0, 3, 4 and their family are well known SG-style gibson basses, and recent SG-Z bass too. As for SG-Z, I had an opportunity to try it couple years ago but I didn't buy because it sounded like a cheap epiphone.
But how 'bout SB-450 ? Isn't it like a SG-style bass? I have just seen it as a photo on the net, but what is different with others is the alder body and maple neck. I guess it's kinda rare gibby. |
