ahhhh so grasshopper....remember that closet full of kalamazoo & other amps ???...........wellll its not nearly as full...but it does still have a few left in it Laughing ...like:

...and not to forget the newest toy: '05 Fender G-DEC.amp.

....and i didn't buy that Marshall 1974X i played thru last night......as good an amp as it is--& i liked it alot-- i couldn't justify the cost since it was close in tone to a couple i already own--(OMG !!!! DID I SAY THAT ???!!!!!) Razz

woooooooooo hooooooooooo.......not only didn't i buy that one...i also hit the selling jackpot this weekend Exclamation Exclamation .........i sold off FIVE amps without buying another one #Crazy
sold off the '61 Sivertone 6s guitar/ampcase...the '65 fender deluxe reverb...the '67 Gibby Falcon III...the '68 Magnatone..and .the '70 fender siverface vibro champ...
..the Matchless DC30 will take its place of honor in the collector closet with my dads Jazz Chorus, '40 gibby eh185,and the '54 fender deluxe tweed
..the PV studioPro (along with the Squire 51 axe) will take over as my teaching/student rig...

..stay tuned--with me it's an always changing, never ending quest for the tones in my head and the gear that lets me hear it #Flash

Ah ~ thanks, mate! I love smaller tube amps as you can figure by the post. I did, just send the VC packing... the AC10 was doing everything the VC could but much, much more. True, a bit noisier though.

That being said, I know that in the Vox crowd ~ the AC30 is HEAVILY coveted ~ but that EF86 trem circuit from the AC10 and AC15 is something missed altogether. I had a GREAT '62 Coppertop AC30 and i've heard alot of folks dissing the trem channels on those bigger boxes and to be honest ~ pound for pound, the thing's like Roy Jones, Jr. ten years ago.

My word is; there's some magic in those small boxes that is hard to reach in their bigger counterparts. And that Skylark GA-5...a grille and one knob (volume) that ought to have been titled "om".

This my modified 2003 Marshall JTM45 RI



The speakers weren't in the cab when this was taken. Cabinets are Mahogany/Flame Maple built by Sultone Amps. The speakers that are in it are now Scumback SA-12-75's.
