...not to worry SA...just steppin' owwda the steady gig thing...don't have the free time i thought i would have to devote to it -- with all the other stuff going on in my life nowadays, i'm too pressed for time at home & it makes for less enjoyment all the way around...i'm sure you know what i mean.....stuff isn't fun when it becomes too much like work |

Man, what am I doin' here? Marshall TSL 100 half stack, Modded 5150 half stack, both with THD Hot plate attenuators, Peavey XXX, and just to gain me entry in the door here, an early 60's blackface Deluxe.
Cool little unit I just got is a VooDoo Amp Selector, which allows the use of up to 4 amps at one time, in any combination, at the poke of a switch. Eliminates ground hum and improper impedence loading of the pickups. Totally transparent. |

ha ha Its funny you bring that up.... I actually stumbled across that selector online within the last week or two and was wondering what they were like. So they perform as advertised eh? I've heard nothing but good reviews on them, and my local shop is looking into becoming a dealer so maybe I'll pick one up. |

95strat, yep, this unit it great. It uses seperate little "buffer amplifiers" for each channel, which are transparent, but prevent signal loss, and improper impedance loading of your pickups, which can be a tone killer.
If you have multipe amps and want to try running them in different combinations, this thing's the shizzle.
I am a classic rock/metal/prog guy, and love the Marshall tone. I layer the 5150 just under it, as one amp emphasizes frequencies that the other doesn't (Marshalls are all about the midrange, the 5150 is dark and chunky) I'm not that crazy about either amps cleans, and I'm looking forward to dragging out the old blackface Deluxe so I can switch to it for the warm cleans.
So far, I've found Voodoo Labs products to be outstanding. I have one of their "MicroVibe's", which duplicates the old UniVibe made popular by Hendrix and Trower. |

**NEW UPDATE**
....well the Frenzell & the 65 AMPS head are gone now too...only due to being too close to what territory i can cover with the Carr Mercury--wonderful amps--definate keepers if i weren't downsizing & didn't have the Carr ......the Mercury is just so versatile + sweet sounding that its hard for anything else to measure up --i did pick up another Epi valve jr. to mess around with--such a fun amp--aaaaaand....i'm considering picking up a new fender '57 Deluxe--just because it is what it is
....Again...stay tuned...it never ends---but it is slowing down |
