Gibson Les Paul Logo Question?

Hi All,

Newb to the forum here. Hoping I could find a reliable answer amongst a gibson/epiphone crowd.

Im considering buying a lefty Epiphone les paul standard off a guy. Ive seen pics of his guitar and it looks like an epiphone les paul standard to me. Only one thing.....the logo (Les Paul Model) script on the head is upside down? He claims this is something original gibson lefties form the 50's had going on.

Can anyone confirm this? I have not been able to find anything to back his claim up. Heres a pic of the headstock:

That's the way Gibson puts on their logos. It is not unusual. Cool
