The knob on the front is a replacement for sure, but I'd need to see pics of any markings on the back or on the electronics to help more. Is it purely battery powered? AC Powered? Both? What kind of controls are there on the amp, other than the front volume control? The more detail you can provide, the more I can help. The box and handle are pretty generic for alot of the practice amps made in the 70's and 80's. Looks like a generic Japanese made solidstate practice amp.

It looks a lot like a Pignose from way back that has been recovered. Does it have hinges on the left side and open up to the battery compartment and a storage place for the wall wart? Cool
