Electromuse lapsteel circa early 1950's

1 piece mohogany body and peghead, plexiglass fretboard.

I have the original knobs in a baggie. They aren't finger friendly!

The pup is covered by a mohogany palm rest that I made...

A little after market stuff there!

I have one exactly the same - my grand cousin bought for me in LA many years ago in a pawn shop and send it to me jn Denmark by US Post.
I asked him to find me a nicely rounded white Fender lapsteel... but the Electromuse is what I got Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Electromuses were made in Chicago (I think by the same that made Harmony guitars) ... the pickup is stenciled in with this: EYE-BEAM (why not EAR-BEAM??? my comment... Very Happy ) and then Electromuse STRING PICKUP Chicago USA. The bar magnets showing thru the pick up housing are wrapped in thin cloth.

The jack lead with yellow cloth too is coming out of a hole on the side (a chrome ring...) so it's permanently ready for playing (in case of an audience and an amp...)

The Electromuse is a simple instrument - but it sounds very good in my Super Reverb - and btw - it spends most of it's life on the wall in my dayroom surrounded by old band pictures and stuff like that Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Yours certainly looks like Mahogany... but mine is dyed maple.

The tuners on mine are all original - but has sort of crippled over the years - like small balloons with most of the air gone... Very Happy but they still work well enough to tune this old fellow into an open E7 - having the same positions around as on my standard tuned guitars.

If you can't play a lapsteel and have an Electromuse you've got yourself an excellent electric cannoo paddle... for fast cannooing Very Happy Very Happy

You are a fortunate "Dude" Troels!

Because this is a good, good, sweet lapsteel!

It was made in the olden days when soccer balls were made out of wood!

Another job well done SA!

Yes... it's from the time when ships were build of wood and men build of iron - now it's opposite (Danish joke... )

The reason that I took so long to get back and thank you was because I like this forum so much, that I went and built a new one for resonators/resophonic, players.
