Greetings folks

Does anyone know if when Gibson sprayed the guitar tops if they lacquered over the bridge as well as the top??

I don't know how many different methods they used over the years but when I went to Bozeman last year they sprayed the top, did a preliminary buffing, then using a razor or X-acto (can't recall) they traced out the shape of the bridge and used a heat gun to soften the finish where the bridge would go, the finish peeled up from that area thereby exposing bare wood, then the bridge is glued on.



Then it's buffed again and all prettified for our lust and purchase.
