| Hi guys, looking for a nice pickup for a 000-28ec any suggestions? I have a Dean Markley sound hole pick-up that I use in my J-45 but this time around I was thinking more of an under bridge model. Anyone have any suggestions. Baggs? Fishman? I don't need lots of volume just want to be able to plug in for recording or when playing in a small room. |

Howdy Blue! I've got a Fishman Prefix Plus in my only acoustic, and it works pretty good, for a piezo pickup. They tell me it sounds fine out in the house, but in my in-ear monitors I hear some of that "piezo quack" when I hit the strings really hard, and I like to do that sometimes. I don't play it that often on stage, so I've never really worried about it too much. |

| Piezio quack?! Oh god that's just what my playing needs. I worked the knuckles and paced the floor for a bit and even consulted the ouiji board and then finally gave in and went with the Fishman. I don't have the luxuary of trying one out so I just went with it. Thanks for the input, we will see how it all works out |

Well, Blue, you'll probably be very happy with it. That little quirk isn't even noticed by everyone, I'm just way too picky. There are many thousands of Fishman equipped axes out there gigging every day without problems. |

I'm very satisfied with the LRbaggs active iBeam I had installed in my Gibson Ron Wood J200 and will most likely be installing one in a 60's Vintage Martin D12-35 a friend is giving me;)
Then again, I'll be reading reviews about other pickups out there & may try something new, just to check it out.
If I do decide to try something new & don't like it, I can always send it back & get another iBeam
The only thing I recommend is that a reputable luthier do the install.
Any negative experiences I have read about, all came from people who did their own install.... In my humble opinion, a Proper install is best left to the pro's to find that sweet spot |
