i have looked online and i dont see even one that has the same tuning keys.
i'm wondering if i could get some help IDing this beast, there are no serial no's just the rod cover that says EB-3 just like that, and gibson at the top of the head.

Welcome to the forum! Without a serial number it's hard to be exact, but I would say it's a very early '70's model; that's when they were around with the slotted heads. They were one of Norlin's not so better ideas. It's a good bass, with the bridge pickup it has more tonal possibilities than just shaking the world apart with that huge neck humbucker! |

Welcome to the Forum, Dmopower!
Do you have any pics of the bass, and especially the headstock with the tuning heads on it? |

Yours is a 1970-71 model
They only had the scripted truss rod covers for a short time
Should be a split headstock model - if not the truss rod cover is wrong!
Unfortunately those tuners are hard to come by. There are similar schallers around, but you need the ones with a hole in the post, not a split post
See this page on Gibson bass tuners to see the difference

Keep watching ebay - its your only option! |
