I have just acquired an fabulous Ripper that plays great for a dreaded Norlin era instument. Does anyone have any info on what the selector and controls are actually supposed to do?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, sparks! Very Happy I'm not a bassist and I know nothing of the instrument other than bass players I know have told me it is an excellent instrument. Norlin didn't do everything wrong, just a lot..... Wink

Rippers are cool, whoever owned the company!

You can see a description of the controls here

I play rippers a lot - generally in varitone position 4

this is my ebony ripper - http://www.gibsonbass.com/ripper_1.php
it was sounding great at rehearsal last week......
