I got a new guitar for my birthday. Epiphone solidbody elec. 3 pups bridge a humbic. serial starts out SJ0200 and made in China. It looks so much like a Yahama Pacifica it's scary so I can only suppose it's a Epiphone Strat Knock-off. I can find no reference to it on any web site. It does have a nice tone and plays well (better than any Yahama) thru my Line6 Spyder. Any clue as to what it might be so that prehaps I can look at upgrades in the future? Thanks all as I am a Noob here.

Hi Mike! Welcome to the Forum!

Well, OK, you must have some kind of Chinese Epiphone, but you knew that. Do you have any pics of it that you can post? That would help identify it. Cool

Stay tuned,
Stan

Thanks Stan I will try to take one tonight and post it. However it looks just like a fat strat with a Firebird style head. All the keys on one side off set at a slight angle with Epiphone on it and Gibson on the truss nutcap. Jet black with white pick guard and a 5 way switch. Dark Rose wood fret board with pearl dot inlays chrome inclosed cap keys. Back has a tone cavity with plate. Tremelo.

Epiphone did an S-310 and similar models. Some with Humbukcer bridge pups and some with all single coils. I think this is the one you speak of.

The last guitars I bought were in the 60s (Fender Amercian Tele and Gibson Black Beauty Studio LP with 2 Humbuckings) my new finance got this one for me I hope she didn't pay too much. Rolling Eyes . Thanks a bunch for the effort I realy appreciate it. Anything I can do for you? I even found with this link where and on what date in China it was made. Hope it helps someone else out.
