This thing is un-identifiable, Someone painted over the thing. I Baught it for $25 at an indoor flea market from an old man who i had thaught owned a vintage Gibson bass and had no idea what he had on his hands. But whoever owned it before him painted over the logo, body, lower neck. I'm thinking its just a Remake made by some guy in his basement. Its poorly cut, There are paint bubbles on it, someone sanded it poorly. Tell me! Here are some pics,

Bolt neck and the shape of the headstock make me think you're right in saying its a copy.
