This is my main amp now,my nephew turned up the other day and walked off with my Marshall.
So Flextone 111, an american made amp solid state 1x12 it has loadza features which I found a little daunting at first but after a few weeks of twiddling I am quite pleased. It isnt a valve amp but it is a pleasing solid state amp (you can pick it up with one had).it is one of these Modelling amps and whilst it wont reproduce the warmth and tone of a fender twin it does a good try at it .On board effects iclude compression noise gate, delays of all desriptions chorus flange tremelo.aswell as modelling different amps it can model different cabs aswell instead of trying everything out I am using a Blackface fender with a Boogie 4x12 cab for clean little bit of chorus and for crunch n Lead sounds a Boogie triple rectifier head and again the boogie 4x12 with noise gate and comp and a little delay. And Hey I am in LURV I use the tone controls at north south as base setting and then add or take a little either way.Normally when I have heard solid state overdive crunch lead I have thought crap thats bad but I can say it isnt a truly Valve sound But a very good to the ear sound
Yes I would recommend this manufacturer I hadnt heard of them 6 months ago.A side by side with my Valvestate Marshall would be the Marshall sounded awesome when wound right up high in the volume where as this does it everywhere in the house in the pub in the club.
Ok hope this hasnt been boring for ya.
Update,
I know this is the Gibson forum but My Fender Japan Strat 60's re issue sounds awesome thru it using the F twin and marshall 4x12 reaaly good.Needless to Say uncle LP sounds fkin brilliant thru it

That's great, Steve. I'm glad you're getting along good with the Line6! |

I used a line 6 with a 4x12 at a rehearsal studio and I had the hardest time getting a descent sound. Very cool features though. It would be interesting to see what i could do with it after a few weeks of peaking and tweaking the knobs. The only effect I use is distortion unless I'm playing around though, so one would have to fall of a truck for me to aquire one. But finally getting "the sound" is always a satisfying feeling.

I use a Line 6 Flextone III XL too and we seem to have settled on the same two tones, the Blackface and the Mesa Triple Rec.
I've been fiddling with a Flextone for a few weeks after picking one up in a sale at Xmas, and after all that the Blackface seemed the best clean sound I could find, modulations are really nice and saturated using that model.
Same with the Triple Rec model but using the 4x12 Marshall T75 instead of the Mesa cab - probably the meatiest crunch I've ever had the fortune to play through!
It's a really good amp despite the gimmicky reputation the Line 6 seems to carry. Good choice |
