I have a 1932? Gibson L-00 FON #242 black with white pickguard that I am considering selling or trading. I am unsure of the value because it has a few flaws that will affect it's value. I'm trying to value the guitar so that it will be fair to both buyer and seller.
When I got the guitar the top was sunk in between the bridge and soundhole caused by loose braces, there was a crack in the bridge, there is a small - 3/8" X 1/4" - puncture on the back of the upper bout, the pickguard had lifted, and the bridgeplate was out of alignment which wouldn't allow a couple of the bridge pins to seat properly.
All of these issues have been repaired and the guitar plays well and sounds good.
Excellent examples of these guitars sell for $3-$4k, but what about one with repairs similar to mine?
