Hi Guys -
Let me begin by saying that your folks have been an outstanding resource for someone new to this to rely on for unbiased (at least non-commercial) advice, you ROCK!
I am now struggling with a final question - would someone prefer a fender deluxe reverb (22Watt with 1 speaker) or a Fender vibrolux reverb (40 Watt with 2 speakers). I will not be playing out of the house, probably ever, and want it to complement a 1965 gibson ES-335 that I have just started a love affair with.
I have tried to read every link that I can find on the internet to this regard, and I am just left without a clue.
Thanks you guys in advance for your thoughts! And special thanks to Voodoo and SA for your thoughts earlier!
Best regards-
Greg |

| The Vibrolux is actually 35 watts, at least the real blackface and silverfaces are. The reissue Vibrolux really doesn't even resemble the BF and SF models. The Deluxe is a better amp for home and small venues, but (in my humble opinion, of course!) the Vibrolux is the most toneful amp that Fender ever produced. That is probably why the BF 'lux's bring 4 digit money. |

If you're playing at home, no playing out in the near future, between your two options I'd go with the Deluxe Reverb.
Although I personally wouldn't just stop with those two options since there's virtually a million other amps to consider out there. Shop around and try different amps...they don't have to say Fender on the chassis to sound good either. All I'm saying is try different products; you might find something really out of the ordinarily that slaps you in the face and tells you "take me home"!
