LOOKS LIKE I AM GOING UP IN FLAMES !!!!!!
BUT I"LL BE TRYING T LIKE HE!! TO THROW THEM BABIES OUT THE WINDOW LIKE A MADMAN !!!!
BUT THE SUPER AND TWIN WILL NEVER FIT OR THE MAGNATONE....
BUT I CAN GUARANTEE I"LL BE IN MY ROOM WITH A WET BLANKET TOSSING AX"S OUT THE WINDOW !!!!!
EACH GUITAR has a different personality and each personality inspires you to write differently sounding songs.
VARIETY IS THE SPICE OF LIFE !!!!!

That's okay guys but what if you're not home? I know, I went through it. Paul and I were working and this fireman came to where Paul was working and told him we had a "small fire" at our place. Small fire my butt! Glad my axes were in cases. My Ovation has never recovered and the old classical had to be fully revamped and cleaned. We were insured (apartment insurance, don't leave home without it) but even so. That's how I bought my Epiphone 45Se. Now, 11 years later, last month, I have this great Gibson J-45 and my new Ramerez. But like smoke alarms, if you're not there you don't hear them. Everything just burns. The fire marshall told us if it were during the night, we all would have died. There was just no way we would have gotten out. We lost our great cat "Arlo" and Paul's Iguana "Crumb". Sometimes, life just keeps you guessing. Maybe a safe is the best bet.
Oh, humidifiers won't work in a fire either!!

SA, I have taken about every approach to this subject you can think of. My wife is a CFO for an aviation co., and we rent two air conditioned storage units for her seasonal clothes and shoes. (Cheaper than building a bigger house.) She makes good money, so I don't care how she spends it.
One of the tacts I've taken in the past when I was guitar shopping is saying, "Hey honey, I haven't seen any new clothes lately, aren't you overdue for a shopping spree?" Smart woman that she is, she soon caught onto that, and now asks "what color the new guitar will be"?.... |

Hah!
That's good, she is a sharp one! My wife isn't a clothes nut, but occasionally she gets on these "remodel the house" kicks. I'm not sure which is worse, but remodeling sure eats up a lot of time as well as dollars! |

I Hear ya, Stan. We're in the middle of some of that ourselves.
Holly, never spoken with you, my names John. Been here for a little while, nice to meet you.
Just want to say sorry for the loss of your pets. My wife and I have been married 31 years, no kids, and your pets are like family. Thank goodness you and your family are ok.
I love my guitars, but in the end, they're just "stuff", and we can always buy more.
For you folks who haven't gotten your equipment insured, it's dirt cheap to put a rider on your homeowners or renters insurance. |

So I can think of one advantage I have. If my house catches fire, I only have to run in and save one guitar....My wife jokes " if the house is on fire, that's probably what you'll do...
*Holy Censor, Batman* right!!!! |
but... If you're not home & you have a fire, better cover your rig with insurance. It's cheap and covers you on the road, in hte studio, playing w friends, etc. with zero deductible... well worth it.I tell my son to run outside immediately if there's a fire, the Les Paul is insured... he's my only son... |
