Not bad for Tele's bud! Sorry, it was tooo easy! Very Happy

As history shows, after Leo figured out how to fit in that missing horn, Gibson caught on about 7 years later. Shocked

Well, not to be inflammatory (much Laughing Laughing ) my favorite Gibby's nowadays just happen to be the SG and the thin ES series, 335 - 355, like Lucille, yes!

Maybe call 'em double cutaway, doesn't have to be horns.... hee hee if you still let me on here in another 4 - 5 days, since I promise not to out-post Stan Cool, I'll find or make a thread to show 'ya what I'm talking about, you DO know, but I mean just to have some more pics for everyone, which would be my Gretsch Silver Jet DC (excuse me Voo, I was needing half the weight of a LP or thereabouts, and it cost twice as much Rolling Eyes, I say this to be sincere and to illustrate I'm making efforts to keep playing without getting a hoist for these things), plus my 1998 NOS GUILD Polara SG knock-off, uhh those little brat guitars from Maryland, and the real Lucille. Oops, you already GOT THAT!!! Mine's just a production-run 1997, not here at present, but I could scan some paper pics, all taken for insurance.

That's why I have these pics from all weird angles BTW, etc. etc. Rolling Eyes

I consider them to be in the necessary category of short-scaled, humbuckered guitars, double cutaway, and with 3-per-side tuners. I don't make alot of fuss about who makes them, if they're outside the Fender Nation.

I'm also going to try VERY VERY hard right now to get a copy of a Gibson Les Paul, that actually says Gibson right on it. Now THAT'S what I call a copy. I believe it's like the one that Slash has, from a luthier in Toronto, whom I've spoken with before. Again, talk about a conversation piece, if we could land one of those rarities? I hope so much to get it. It'll match up nice with the Tokai '58 clone! Shocked

Your pics and those Teles as you've selected so well and enjoyed, are fantastic. I DO mean they're not average, but very special.

I'm still preparing, but not yet ready here to show my daughter's Kindergarten-entry present, which was an Alpine White Les Paul Custom. If you've got a 2001 paper catalogue there, it's the very first guitar in it!

Of course you know what she did with it, not liking stRats at all? She requested that it be traded for Tele! And the result, which you've seen, is at wwwdotnymphusadotcom hmmm....... in the event that the link is not allowed, it was the first thing again, google "billie telecaster girl" and same for "Tele-Girl Gallery" Laughing

I never tire looking at your wall of dreams Voodoo...

Although out of this batch of pictures, I'd have to say my favorite Tele of yours would have to be this one:

It just calls out to me Very Happy Nice work man

Sorry to be a bit anal, but isn't that guitar a 1990s MIJ Foto Flame Tele? Question

The reason I ask is that I have one exactly like it and the distinctive body "woodgrain" is a Foto Flame finish, which wasn't around until the early 90s. Wink

I won't ever be able to "compete" in the old Teles competition - I just don't have any 50s or 60s Teles. I only started collecting a few years ago and by then the horse had bolted (pricewise) to be able to collect those. Rolling Eyes

Also an interesting comment about the JV serials. I am not sure that I agree with you about there not being serial numbers on neck plates.

I have a genuine JV Tele Deluxe (yes the one with the Strat headstock and double HB) which has a neck date of 1983, but it's Serial number is on the 3-bolt Neckplate. I have also seen other original JV's with serial numbers on the neck plates. I think one thing that can be said about the early Japan fenders, is that they did all sorts of strange stuff and even people who are heavily into thier history often get surprised by an exception to a rule. Very Happy

Ah, so... Honey Foto Flame is simply delicious man... I'm so use to seeing heavy foto flame jobs with bright colors and this beauty is so nice and easy on the eyes, real subtle.

Now I've got yet another guitar to add to my search strings on eBay and elsewhere. I'm still going to take your advise and pull the trigger on a BFG first though.

I guess I'll go ahead and post some of my gear since I'm finally past the 7 day / 10 post rule

First off, my Gibson LP Studio with a set of Seymor Duncans

MIM stRat with a set of Kinman Woodstock+

MIA Squier Strat from 89, my first electric.

and lastly, my semi-hollow... Nothing fancy here, just an Ibanez Artcore, great bang for the buck.

Nice collection, Vert! And set against a particularly attractive wall, I must say. That Studio LP sure does photograph nice! Cool
