Actually, if you read the text in my post at the top of that picture, I said it was Eric playing a Firebird I. |

| Yes, Eric had two 100 watt Plexis every time I saw him with Cream. And Hendrix always had three 200 watt Majors when I saw him, but I think one was a backup in case the others failed (which they frequently did!); if I remember right. Eric's were patched together. They were quite loud in those days; I'm surprised Eric can even hear! |

The Firebird arrived. Upon close inspection, I think it's been refinished, which is a little disappointing becasue it wasn't described as such by the seller. Still, the price was pretty reasonable, so not a huge deal. If it was a vintage instrument, it WOULD be a big deal, but it's not.
It does play very nicely, although it's a bit weird. It sits on the guitar strap in an unusually forward position (compared to say LP or Teles), and it is physically a huge guitar.
The tuners are weird too...

OK, I now have photos of the Explorer...
It's a 2007 "Guitar of the Week" special, week #43. Very tasty.
(yes Herb, it does have the Trem arm...) |

Or, just a great guitar if you've got the cajones to play one! |

It certainly has an interesting sound... much darker than an LP.
Maybe that's the 59 Replica PuPs?? |

| If that has Classic 57's in it or Burstbuckers to replicate the original '58's, they won't make it sound darker. Probably the mahogany/Korina body with no maple cap. Now if it has ceramics in it, it will be stronger and darker! |

The Explorer has Classic '57 Humbuckers, according to the spec sheet.
OK, a new arrival in the Bunker. It's a really cute guitar, short scale (about 23"), but with a seriously great playability and sound....

That's way too cool, Ajay! I reminds me very little of a Fender Music Master that I have. Well, they both have one pickup and a short scale. On mine, the neck is so thin down by the nut that I can't even fret just one string at a time. The strings are too close together!
